About Us
Tenaru was established in 1992 when John and Maureen Koehler gave Teeny a heifer as a gift. That heifer was Whattleveiw Corisande G4 and was the founding female. After we were married we moved to Deddick Park Poll Herefords near the Snowy River in Victoria. We really loved it down there but after three years moved so we could be closer to family. When we left Joe and Oriel Hoffmann gave us some heifers. These females can still be traced through quite a few of our pedigrees.
We started at Merawah in September 1997 and have been here ever since. We have been honored to work with such an amazing herd of cows. We have a wonderful relationship with the Mackay family and our children Tiana and Lachlan have grown up with Serena and Gus.
We purchased five females in the Merawah Dispersal to add to our female lines. We are very proud of our herd of females and their strength is showing with bulls selling to $16000 and averaging over $7000 for the last two years.
We believe that behind every good bull must be a maternal powerhouse. After all females are the foundation of every herd.
